CPA Waco AlternativeWhen the campus sets the cash
A campus calendar moves deposits in a way a factory year never does. An owner selling into that campus has to let the close follow that rhythm.

The city's own employer list puts the university first, ahead of the hospitals and the school district. A published count on that list is 5,698 people. That is a public figure from the city, not a claim about your sales, and it explains why August and May feel nothing like a plant's year.
Baylor was founded in Independence and moved to Waco in the eighteen eighties. A home night at McLane is a pride we share from our side of the state. A home game weekend still has deposits, and those deposits belong in the month they were earned, even when the campus is the reason the weekend existed. McLane can be loud on a Saturday and the deposit still belongs to the Saturday it was earned.
A supplier who sells to students, to departments, or to game day crowds is running a seasonal business with a year round filing calendar. The sales tax date does not move because the students left. The close does not move either.
We watch whether a deposit in May is a last home game or a regular contract, because those two stories should not share a line if you still need to know which one will return in the fall.
We watch payroll setup for the seasonal crew. A provider opened in your name can hold a short season without pretending those people are a year round plant crew. You still run payday. We still refuse to blend their rate with a different crew's rate.
We watch the months the campus is quiet. A quiet June is not a broken file. It is a month that should close small and true, so July does not inherit a mystery.
When the fall surge and the quiet summer are both closed, the return can tell the year you had. Rebuilding that year from bank statements in March is how a game day deposit gets called something else.
If a department pays you late, the open item stays named. We do not hide it inside a miscellaneous line to make the month look finished. Finished means the bank agrees, not that the page looks calm.
August move in and May commencement are not a factory's busy season. They are two crowds with different reasons to pay you, and they should not share a deposit line if you still need to know which one returns. A department on a contract is a third story. It keeps paying when the students leave. A game day crowd does not.
We close the quiet months small. A June with little cash is still a month, and it still meets the twentieth if anything was sold. Leaving June open so it can borrow July's deposits is how a campus year gets told as a plant year. We would rather show the small month than smooth it into the next one.
